I don't usually lean toward sports romance, but Pucked by Helena Hunting was actually a really nice surprise! It is super fun, wonderfully spicy, and an all-around great time.
What I Loved:
The Characters: Alex was amazing. And Violet? I loved her. She is so spunky and completely unfiltered, which makes for fantastic banter and laugh-out-loud moments.
The Vibe: Even though sports romance isn't normally my go-to genre, this one completely hooked me with its humor and high energy. (Though fair warning: I definitely found myself wanting to know even more about the brother!)
What Kept It From 5 Stars:
It was so close to a top-tier favorite, but there was just a little something missing for me by the end. Specifically, I didn't particularly love how much Violet's character changed in the final pages almost instantly. I prefer when character growth feels a little more gradual!
Final Verdict:
Minor ending quibbles aside, I genuinely enjoyed it. If you want a funny, spicy, uninhibited romance that steps outside the usual tropes, Pucked is well worth the read.
