The Wren in the Holly Library by K.A. Linde was a good book, but ultimately not a great one for me. While it has some major highlights, it was a bit of a mixed bag experience!
What Worked:
The World-Building: The world-building was truly amazing, and the book started off with a hook that really grabbed my attention.
The Bookends: The beginning and the very end had the elements that kept me invested.
Where It Lost Me
The Pacing: The in-between sections felt so slow that I honestly just wanted to hurry up and get it over with, and the book almost felt like it would never finish.
Character Consistency: I almost felt like the characters didn't act like themselves compared to how they started out, and there were just a few pieces that didn't fit together right. (Of course, it could have just been my reading mood for the week!)
Final Verdict:
It was a good book that just felt a bit off and slow in the middle. Will I give the sequel a shot? Absolutely—I'm curious enough to read book two and see how the series progresses!
